hollywoodnews.com: Dozens of Michael Jackson's family members (including his mother and children) attended this weekend's "Michael Forever" tribute concert in Wales; though siblings Marlon, Tito, Jackie, and LaToya performed, Janet, Randy, and Jermaine were conspicuously absent.
The absent siblings reportedly opposed the timing of the concert, which coincides with the manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. In recent days, bizarre recordings of Jackson saying unflattering things about his family while apparently high on prescribed medication has fueled speculation that the late Jackson's relationship with his family was checkered. Marlon commented on his three siblings' absence, saying “Each one of us grieves differently. We want to celebrate the positive side of his life, the positive things that he did.”
The concert's star-studded lineup included Christina Aguilera, Ne-Yo, Cee Lo Green, Smokey Robinson, Gladys Night, and Beyonce (via video link), who played on a stage shaped like a white glove. Jackson's three children briefly took the stage to thank the crowd for coming to honor their father. “We’re very happy to be here on this special night,” said 13-year-old Paris.
