Tyra Lynne Banks was born on December 4, 1973, in LosAngeles, California, USA. After being turn down by four modeling agencies becausethey didn’t like she was photogenic, Tyra finally signed Elite Model Managementat the age of 17 years. In 1996, she isthe first black woman to be feature on an SI swimsuit issue cover ofillustrated magazine. She had also graced covers of many fashion magazines likeSeventeen, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, Cosmopolitan etc.
