Sony buys film rights to Steve Jobs bio

hollywoodnews.com: Upon news of Steve Jobs' death, it was widely reported that the release of the Walter Isaacson-written biography would be pushed up to October 24th, nearly one month early. Now, Deadline confirms, the movie rights to Isaacson's book have been purchased by Sony; Mark Gordon will produce.

So, what makes Isaacson's bio so valuable (other than the timeliness of its release)? Jobs turned down a lengthy list of other esteemed biographers and hand-picked Isaacson himself to chronicle his life story. Isaacson, a former managing editor of Time Magazine and former Chairman of CNN, is an accomplished biographer in his own right. He has won praise for highly regarded portrayals of other larger-than-life figures including Henry Kissinger and Albert Einstein.
